Math for Mastery
Meet weekly for a dual purpose: support in the current math class and enrichment activities focused on long-term goals.
The pandemic disrupted routines, mental health, and academic progress for students across the world. Now that we have turned the corner, recovering what has been lost will take extra work and a commitment to see it through. The "Math for Mastery" program supports students with their current math class and also helps them fill in the gaps from previous classes, developing long term understanding and success in mathematics. Together we will set and track long-term learning goals that you can work on at your own pace by practicing rigorous, differentiated concepts each week with immediate feedback and support. Students and parents are able to see progress every week, encouraging a growth mindset and ownership of the learning process. Skills will be spiraled over time and across lessons to improve retention.
Students will have an opportunity each week (when school is in session) to meet with Mr. Dwyer to work toward their goals and get help with their math class. Math for Mastery students get one 90 minute in-person session per week and one Zoom session per week. Please view the schedule and let Mr. Dwyer know which sessions you want (he will sign you up).
The cost for the program is $300/month* due at or before the first session each month. Contact Mr. Dwyer about payment options and to sign up.
