What subjects do you tutor?
Mr. Dwyer tutors all math classes offered by district 204 with the exception of Calculus BC and prob/stats. He also tutors Spanish 1, 2 and 3.
do you meet with students 1 on 1?
I provide individualized assistance for each student in a group setting. There is usually more than one student attending each session, but each student will get the help he or she needs before leaving. My philosophy for tutoring is simple; students learn best when THEY do the work. My goal each session is to empower each student to understand the concepts and to know they can do this for themselves.
Do you tutor students with special needs?
My tutoring method is best suited for motivated students who can advocate for themselves and are comfortable working in a group setting. Many students who have IEP or 504 plans do not fit into this category, and I would recommend finding a traditional tutor who meets with students one at a time. I'm happy to discuss your specific needs to determine if my program is right for you.
How long is each session?
Sessions have a flexible start and finish time, but students can expect to stay for about 90 minutes. Take as long as you need to get your questions answered and to practice doing the problems yourself.
Do you offer family discounts?
My goal is to make tutoring affordable for everyone. Paying for multiple kids can be very difficult for a family. Please email me if you are considering enrolling multiple students in tutoring and I'll do my best to accommodate your situation.
How do i cancel or change a session?
If you need to cancel or change a session, first try to log on to SignUp Genius and cancel/change it yourself. If you can't figure out how to do this, just shoot an email with your request to email@example.com.
what forms of payment do you accept?
PayPal is the preferred payment method; it allows you to use a credit card or an existing PayPal account, and the monthly subscriptions will be automatically charged on the same date each month. You can also pay with cash if that's easier. I do not accept personal checks.
